At FSH Auto Parts, we test every engine before it leaves our warehouse. Today, we’re putting two popular 2.8L diesel engines through their paces – one naturally aspirated and one turbocharged.
Both engines share the same rugged 2.8L displacement and are widely used in pickup trucks and light commercial vehicles. While they come from the same family, they serve different purposes.
The naturally aspirated version is known for its simplicity and durability. It’s straightforward to maintain and delivers reliable performance for daily work and regular hauling.
The turbocharged version adds forced induction to the same 2.8L foundation. The result is better throttle response, stronger mid-range torque, and improved performance when carrying heavy loads or tackling hilly terrain.
During today’s testing, both engines started cleanly and idled smoothly. Compression and oil pressure remained stable throughout the run. There was no smoke or oil leakage. Internal inspections confirmed that both engines are free from sludge and carbon buildup.
We test every engine thoroughly – compression checks, oil pressure monitoring, visual inspections, and start-up runs. Only after passing every step do we prepare them for shipment.
Whether you prefer the simplicity of natural aspiration or the added punch of a turbo, we have both options available and ready to ship.
